The stage
was fogged one last time.
The speakers
pumped thunder.
5 guys
stood in front of a crowd of people, lifting up the one true
God and giving testimony to His faithfulness as the ministry
drew to a final close.
We want
to thank everyone who came (in the middle of your Christmas
shopping and preparations to celebrate the One for who the
Advent season is all about) to see an end to what God brought
together waay back in 1987. Jerry pointed out rightfully at
our private party that we as a band have seen other bands
come and go; births; marriages; new ministries started and
other calls to ministry answered; and deaths. We've been blessed
to be a part of what God's doing.
Advent
has had a full ministry in its 14 years of existence. We tried
hard to be an example of what a Christian band should be;
sometimes that was harder to do than people realize. Hopefully,
we succeeded, and some of the younger people in the up-and-coming
bands with whom we've played saw and are following that example.
We were never the main show, although it sure felt like it
sometimes. It was all to advance the Kingdom.
