Objective

I enjoy designing websites, and I'm looking for a full-time position designing websites with a company of great people who are as excited as I am to be doing the best thing in the world for a living!

Town North Bank, Dallas, Texas 2008 to present
Title: Web Designer/Developer

Job Description: I maintain several public-facing websites: tnbonline.com, townnorthbank.com, tnbcard.com, gotomycard.com and apply.gotomycard.com. For each website, I establish publishing guidelines and standards for website organization, functionality and layout, and create new web pages, graphics and Flash or .gif animations as necessary. I make decisions on the technology used within the sites and maintain control over content appearance, subject to approval by the website owners.

On a weekly basis, I update investment rates for tnbonline.com. On a daily basis I complete work order requests as they come in and assist users with any website needs, create email forms complete with Javascript validation and create promotional ads as requested by either marketing department. Every day I also keep myself abreast of new web design methodology and best practices using several blog sites. I act as web consultant for both marketing departments.

Job Highlights:

  • I implemented a website design for tnbonline.com that was created by a third party before I was hired.
  • I created UI widgets for the main page and left navigation user controls that appear on subsequent web pages. I created and installed an improved navigation interface for tnbcard.com Client Center using css flyout menus that resulted in better information-finding capability for all clients.
  • I worked with TNB developers to create a website with centrally-located client customization. Each client sees their logo or banner when they connect to the website, and all rate and disclosure info comes from a centralized source. This replaced an older website and saved hours of update work by the website administrator.

Job Description: Update internal and external websites, update/create graphics as needed, create Flash animations, create and validate forms for email submission. Provide support for older PERL applications.

Job Highlights:

  • I maintained existing websites usamobility.com and https://myaccount.usamobility.com/ and intranet websites.
  • I managed requests for changes to websites as the company consolidated wed websites due to the company being acquired and merged.
  • I updated navigation in usamobility.com for better cross-browser functionality and appearance.
  • I created scripts that allowed users to display Flash animation or a static image (before swfobject), and turn movie sound off or on.
  • I created Flash movies to display sales force incentives and sales channel information.
  • I developed a set of generic ASP email forms that could be used to create customized and validated forms in a very short amount of time.
  • I contributed to the print and graphic design needs of the company.

Job Description: Provided mission support by maintaining national defense communications system computer system at SAC Headquarters. Honorably discharged.

Skills Required: Knowledge of D.C. circuits, high-reliability soldering, troubleshoot electronics to component level for multiple computer systems.

Coldwater Creek Neighborhood website 2010 - present

Recently designed a new website for my neighborhood, http://www.coldwatercreekneighborhood.com to help keep neighbors informed about neighborhood activities. Includes a WordPress blog that I modified to match the look and feel of the website.

James Bowie High School Marching Band, Arlington, Texas 2002 to 2010
Title: Webmaster

Created and maintain website for Bowie High School marching band, http://www.bowieband.com. Maintain birthdays and student contact information, monitor and moderate guestbook. Special features include custom birthday display script (PERL/CGI), custom script that uses frames to display marching band pictures (Javascript) and guestbook. Took football half-time and contest photos for website display. Create mass HTML email announcements as necessary, obtained and implemented opt-in email software system that allows the email to be sent to incremental groups of email addresses over a given time period. Home page allows users to customize the greeting using a layer and a cookie.

Title: Web Designer

I was requested to design a new football website for the football booster club, http://www.bhsvolsfootball.com. Created new information flow and added special features such as vertical website navigation, football roster image and information display. A football booster club member currently maintains this website.
